Sponsor a Contestant

Rich in history and social significance, the Miss America Organization is a not-for-profit organization that has maintained a tradition for many decades of empowering American women to achieve their personal and professional goals, while providing a forum in which to express their opinions, talent and intelligence.

In the 1980s, the Organization made significant strides toward community service when it required contestants to embrace a social platform of national significance. Whereas past Miss Americas may have spent their year of service signing autographs in local drug stores for one of the pageantís sponsors, Miss America today is in great demand as a speaker before legislative bodies, civic and national service organizations, and prestigious bodies of the nationís news media, such as the National Press Club. Today, on an annual basis, Miss America state and local title holders, along with the Organizationís network of volunteers, participate in more than 12,000 community service projects, providing in excess of 500,000 service hours to worthy causes.

And all this starts with you, the local sponsor. By sponsoring a contestant, you are helping to mentor a young woman, enhance her knowledge of local, state and national events, and provide her a vehicle to further her personal and professional goals through the earning of scholarship dollars. We encourage our sponsors to invite their contestants to their facilities to meet employees and to learn what your company does and how you impact the Jackson, Michigan and global economy. She can showcase your company in public appearances. Public awareness of your company will be raised as she makes public appearances before service clubs and at schools speaking about her platform.

Your gift of $1,200.00 could make all the difference in the life of a young woman. If you have any questions or wish to accept this invitation to become a contestant sponsor, please email our Executive Director, Chris LaRock Gorton, call her at 517.673.6480, or submit a Sponsorship Opportunities Form.
